FoodService Danmark uses the VAX platform
FoodService Danmark delivers food and foodstuffs to companies across the country, which requires sending out an enormous amount of invoices. However, since NemHandel was introduced in 2008, it has become both easier and cheaper for the wholesale giant to dispatch electronic invoices to its many customers. “We actually started with NemHandel back when it was first launched as a pilot project, but we only went all-in with electronic invoicing in 2010, when it became mandatory to send invoices electronically to public authorities,” says René Horslev, IT Administrator at FoodService Danmark.
NemHandel is the market standard
He points to the fact that NemHandel is not only one of the most widely used solutions for e-invoicing in Denmark, but also by far the cheapest option for the company. “After all, NemHandel is the market standard here [in Denmark], and many of our customers and suppliers use it – so it obviously makes invoicing much simpler. We have also saved money on invoicing, as it is more affordable than the other alternatives currently available. Finally, it also gives us a better overview of any outstanding amounts, as we can quickly see whether our customers and suppliers have received and paid their invoices,” Horslev explains. He also notes the advantages of promoting Danish e-invoicing standards under the PEPPOL name with regard to trade with international companies. “We have a lot of foreign suppliers who deliver fruits and vegetables to us. It would greatly facilitate the administrative aspect of our work if they used the same invoicing standards as we do here [in Denmark],” Horslev says.
