Connectors in VAX 360
VAX 360 communicates via connectors. Connectors are interfaces to and from VAX 360.
VAX Transfer is a standard integration component for VAX 360. It is a service incorporated into the user’s platform which can exchange documents with VAX 360 in an encrypted format. VAX Transfer can be configured to send outbound documents from a file folder and save received documents in a file folder.
Documents can be exchanged via FTP, SFTP or FTP(s) protocol. VAX can send documents to and receive documents from these servers.
The e-mail connector is used to send received electronic documents in HTML format. It is possible to send the documents to a default e-mail address or to an e-mail address in the processed document. This function is typically used if electronic invoices are received that the customer would like to process as an HTML/PDF document. The e-mail connector is also used to send status messages in HTML format if so desired.
A directory connector is a standard file folder or library. It is typically used in the exchange of documents via SFTP or FTP.
It is possible to use web services to both send and receive electronic documents. However, the use of this feature requires a special installation and agreements between the relevant parties to ensure proper configuration.
It is possible to convert electronic documents to HTML format and print them on a local printer. This is often used to handle documents in instances where the customer does not wish to establish an interface to the ERP system.
Documents can be exchanged via the queue feature MS Message Queues, which allows programs running at different times to communicate across networks and systems. Message queuing guarantees delivery of messages, effective routing and security.
It is possible to purchase additional special integrations or special sorting of documents, if required.
